Codes in the Dr Adept CMS are surrounded by square brackets [ ]

These codes indicate what HTML tags to place within the document.

Some codes require on and off tags such as bold, turn on bold with [B] shows Bold text, end with an [EB] which will turn bold off.

Some codes do not require end or off codes, such as inserting images.

With functions like Bold and Italic or the Heading tags you may either add the codes in and then place your text within the codes or highlight the text and click the relevant button to place the codes at either end of the highlighted section of text.

With bullet points it is easier to type in your bulleted text on individual lines then highlight all lines that are required to be bulleted then click one of the bullet buttons.

Inserting an Images

To insert an image into your text click the insert image button Insert Image

This will bring up a browse window and show you images available on the web server.

When inserting an image you will be given several options;

At the top you will see a list of folders available to select images from. You will normally be shown a relevant folder to start with, normally the /images/ folder as this contains most images and uploads.

Below you will see a thumbnail view of all your images (this may be reduced by alphabet if you have too many files to show).

Click on an image to select it for inserting, you will then be prompted if it is ok to insert, click YES to insert or NO to return to browsing files.

Uploading a new File

Insert Image

Click the Choose a file button to browse around your computers folders and find a file to upload to the web server.

Now choose what the file is;

Is the image a thumbnail or do you want a thumbnail created or not? Thumbnails are small copies of larger images.

If you are creating a thumbnail you may set the pixel width size.

Forcing the longest side of an image reduces the size to fit within your webpage, so as not to interfere with the layout of your site. Check with your webmaster as to a good size to set this too.

Once you are happy with the settings click the Upload Image button and the file should be uploaded to the currently selected folder.

Once uploaded the file will automatically be selected for inserting into your text. Click Yes to insert it or No to go back to browsing files.

Creating a Folder

You may create a folder of your own to store specific images or files in.

Create a Folder

Type the name and click create, this will create a folder within the currently selected folder. Do not use special characters, just numbers and letters are allowed all other characters will be stripped out.
