Adding Extra file or images

The small square button that appears after the upload button indicates whether more images or files have been uploaded for the piece of content.

No Extra Files or Images Indicates no other files or images have been uploaded.
No Extra Files or Images Indicates more images or files have been uploaded.

Clicking the button allows you to upload multiple files or images to each piece of content and will show thumbnails of all the currently uploaded files or images.

Upload image
Uploading more files or images works the same as when uploading main file/image other than there is no URL link associated with these images.

You may type a description for the image or file, this will be used when displaying images or thumbnails and is good practice for site accessibility.

Prior to Uploading Images
Before uploading an image ensure the image is designed to fit correctly within the page template it is designed for. Visit http://www.irfanview.com and download Irfanview graphics viewer to adjust size and orientation if you do not have a graphics editor or use one of the many online graphic resizing applications.

Alternatively you may tick the Force Longest Side option and type the size in pixel of the image if you wish to reduce the image to a set size once uploaded, this is not the best option as it will not create the highest of quality when reducing images.

Select whether you wish a thumbnail to be created or if this is a thumbnail.

Thumbnails can be created separately. If creating a thumbnail from the uploaded image then you may set the width of the thumbnail to be created.

Thumbnails can only be created if you are uploading an image of type jpg, gif or png.

Select from files already in the file/image folder
You may also select a file or image that has already been uploaded to the web server file store by selecting the Browse File/Image Folder option.

Select from uploaded files and images

Browse for the main file or image and the thumbnail.

Uploading non image files
It is good practice when uploading non image files such as PDF documents to include a thumbnail representing that file, this can either be taken from a reduced graphic representation of the file itself or a small icon graphic created specifically for those kind of files such as;

Thumbnail for PDF document Thumbnail for word processing document Thumbnail for compressed document

Removing a File
An option to Remove each File will appear above each file or image.
Clicking the Remove File option will prompt "Are you sure?"

Click YES to remove and delete the file from the system.
Click NO to return to the upload page.
